I cannot even begin to tell you about the incredible sights we got to take in at Waimea Canyon! This is one of the most iconic photo spots on the island of Kauai, and it shows! With a 4 am wake up call, we headed around the island and up the windy roads of the mountains to this beautiful spot. Would you believe me if I told you it was only a two hundred foot hike from the main road to these views?
In true Hawaii fashion, the clouds were thick before the sun came up, but it peeked through at just the right time! The weather gave us a show - from cloudy and overcast to sunny and clear to a rainy sun shower to an unbelievable rainbow! We were in AWE. TJ and Gabby were full game through it all for their bridal portraits. And as you can see, they took it all in stride.
The sweetest couple that totally trusted the process and because of that, we ended up with a gallery like this one! Getting playful and building off of their natural movements and chemistry is the best way to create images that reflect their relationship.
Shortly after Waimea Canyon, we headed down the mountain a short way to another famous photo location - the Red Dirt Waterfall! The vibrant red soil is everywhere in Hawaii - and heads up, it stains! A bad day to be wearing shows. BUT the dress survived!!
We all agreed this experience was one that would be hard to top! The bucket-list level scenery is enough to keep me coming back for more! It would be impossible to take a bad photo of TJ and Gabby, let alone in a place that looks like this.
As a travel photographer, my time with TJ and Gabby was what I hope to achieve for my editorial-style photos: intimate, observant, creative, and intentional.
These two, simply put, stunned.
